The present and future of commercial HVAC is trending towards systems with higher efficiency. Higher efficiency systems have more complicated digital controls that require a different approach to repairs and troubleshooting in some instances. The AAON units have a control system that allows computer connectivity through an app. With the app you can monitor every part of the unit and set many custom parameters to meet the needs of the building. The control system can be overwhelming at first, but once you understand it, the program allows you to perfectly satisfy a space with optimal efficiency. This time though, plugging in the computer and using the refrigeration module, we were able to notice the pressures were sitting very close to equal, even though the compressor was pumping. Energizing and de-energizing the reversing valve unstuck the valve and the unit began cooling properly again. Sometimes the problems are still the basics.

Over the weekend, we helped a customer seeking to enhance their home's heating system's efficiency and provide central cooling for the first time ever! They enlisted our expertise to install a high-efficiency heat pump. We utilized the very reliable York HH8 heat pump, which was paired with a single stage gas furnace. By doing so, we created a dual-fuel setup that balances both efficiency and performance. To further streamline and control the system, we modified the control wiring for the furnace to include two-stage cooling. For easy and convenient control of these features, we also installed a Venstar T7850 thermostat, allowing the homeowners to adjust their home's temperature with ease. Ensuring customer satisfaction through a comfortable home environment is our top priority!

The customer reached out to us for a pre-summer preventative maintenance service. We performed a thorough cleaning of the coils and inspected all electrical components to ensure everything was in excellent working condition for the upcoming season. A key part of our service was the installation of a new Venstar T7850 thermostat. We were contacted by a senior living center to address a problem they were having with heating and air conditioning in a few rooms. Our team ran diagnostics and discovered that a faulty zone control board was the root of the issue. To ensure comfort until we can install a new board, we created a temporary cooling solution by bypassing the problematic board. We later installed a ZoneFirst 3 zone control board, known for its reliability, to permanently resolve the heating and air conditioning issue. We were recently contacted by a customer who was concerned about a noticeable drop in performance of their mini split system. Understanding that the most significant loss of performance and efficiency in such systems can be attributed to a dirty fan wheel, which results in lost air flow, we promptly conducted a detailed mini split service. We focused on meticulously cleaning the fan wheel to ensure optimal system function. For maximum effect and long-term benefits, we utilized Nu-Calgon fungistat - a product designed to combat fungi and prevent further accumulation that could compromise the system's efficiency.

No HEAT! 🔥🔥 A simple no heat call turned into 3 repairs.
🔥 The igniter failed and would no longer heat up to start the flame. A new igniter was installed and the unit fired right up!
💨 Air wasn’t flowing well to the master. It was always too cold in the winter and too warm in the summer. It was obvious that the duct was pinched off with the tensioned 90 degree bend. That’s a no-no with flex duct! The duct was hung in a different way to create a gradual bend and increase air flow. Air flow is everything, it’s the Art!
👃🏼 What’s that smell? The gas pipe into the valve was never tightened enough and was leaking! It was a small leak but enough to be aromatic. Gas line was disassembled and then put back together properly. No more leaks to save on that propane cost!

Customer stated the AC wasn’t working as well as it used to and wanted to get it serviced. Found the indoor evaporator coil was matted with debris and reducing the airflow greatly. The coil was deep cleaned and all the debris was removed. Afterwards the system was tested and it was back to running at full capacity and efficiency. Air flow is everything!

Commercial building tenant had a blank thermostat. The thermostat was not labeled properly and the unit had to be located on the roof. With extensive commercial zoning knowledge it was easy to locate the correct unit on the roof first try. Then troubleshooting found that the contactor coil was shorted and needed to be replaced. Easy fix and efficient service.
